Terms & Conditions of Use

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MoorMesh platform ("Service"), operated by Mariposa International Ltd trading as MoorMesh ("MoorMesh", "we", "us", or "our"). By registering for an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Overview of the Service
MoorMesh is a community-powered marine security platform that enables users to connect compatible cameras, receive alerts, and view activity across a shared network of participating devices.
The Service may be subject to updates, changes, interruptions, or inaccuracies.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Hardware Requirements
The Service currently supports only specific approved hardware.
- At present, this includes the Reolink Go Plus camera
- MoorMesh does not guarantee compatibility with any other devices
- You are responsible for the purchase, installation, maintenance, and connectivity (including SIM/data plans) of your hardware
4. Beta Service Disclaimer
The Service is provided on a BETA basis, meaning:
- Features may change without notice
- Performance may be unstable or incomplete
- Data accuracy and alert reliability are not guaranteed
By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.
5. Privacy & Data Usage (GDPR)
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and store personal data.
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018:
- Mariposa International Ltd acts as a data controller in relation to account information, platform usage data, and system analytics
- We may also act as a data processor in relation to certain camera-derived data transmitted through the Service
By using MoorMesh, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Camera alerts, images, and metadata may be processed and shared within the MoorMesh network or with appropriate local authorities
- Data may be processed on the basis of legitimate interests (including community safety, crime prevention, and service improvement)
- You have the necessary rights and permissions to capture and share any footage transmitted via your devices
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of camera equipment complies with applicable data protection laws, including providing appropriate notices where required and respecting the rights of individuals captured in footage.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights including:
- Access to your personal data
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction or objection to processing

6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes
- Upload or transmit harmful, abusive, or misleading content
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data or the platform
7. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- MoorMesh does not guarantee the prevention of theft, damage, or security incidents
- MoorMesh is a supplementary awareness tool and does not replace physical security measures, insurance, or personal vigilance
- The Service operates in a marine and outdoor environment, where connectivity, power, weather, and hardware limitations may affect performance
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, or incident arising from reliance on the Service
- Use of the Service is entirely at your own risk
8. Future Charges & Subscription Model
The Service is currently offered free of charge.
MoorMesh reserves the right to introduce fees or a subscription model at any time in the future.
If charges are introduced:
- Users will be given reasonable notice
- Continued use of the Service may require payment
- You will have the option to discontinue use before charges apply
9. Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms
- Modify or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time
10. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the MoorMesh platform, including software, branding, and content, remain the property of Mariposa International Ltd.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on our website with a revised effective date.
Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

14. Neighbourhood Visibility
MoorMesh is designed as a shared, community-based security network.
By participating in the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Alerts, activity indicators, and certain camera-derived data may be visible to other authorised users within your local MoorMesh network
- The purpose of this visibility is to enhance collective awareness and security across the community
- MoorMesh does not guarantee anonymity of activity within the network
15. Camera Positioning & User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the positioning, use, and operation of your camera(s).
You agree that:
- Your camera(s) will be installed and used in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including privacy and data protection laws
- You will take reasonable steps to avoid capturing areas where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy (such as private residences or enclosed spaces)
- You are responsible for providing any required signage or notices relating to CCTV usage
- MoorMesh accepts no responsibility for improper or unlawful use of camera equipment by users
16. Law Enforcement Cooperation
MoorMesh may, where appropriate, cooperate with law enforcement and relevant authorities.
By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Camera alerts, images, and related data may be shared with appropriate authorities where reasonably necessary for the prevention or investigation of crime
- MoorMesh may act as an intermediary in facilitating communication between users and authorities
- You consent to MoorMesh contacting relevant authorities on your behalf in the event of a security alert or suspected incident
